Earth is the cradle of humanity, but one can’t live in a cradle forever.” It is the natural instinct of
the human brain to explore, to discover and to unravel the mysteries of this universe. We
humans have a strong curiosity to know what lies beyond the earth and this galaxy. We have a
strong urge to know, to witness and then believe. So, it is the human element inside us that tells
us to stretch out the vision and look for what the universe contains and therefore, for this, man
created space technology. Space technology is the technology that is related to entering or
retrieving object or life forms from space. It is supported for mankind as it has a wide area of
applications such as remote sensing, weather forecasting and space colonization. Operational
remote sensing satellites like IRS are providing vital inputs on agriculture, soil, forestry, ocean
resources, water and land resources, mineral exploration and flood management. Geostationary
satellites have revolutionized the area of communication particularly TV broadcast, education
and disaster warning. Astronomy and earth sciences also benefitted a great deal from space
technology important operations like mining minerals on the moon and planets, producing
products in zero gravity and expounding our environment and raving humanity in case of global
destruction all depends on space technology.
Space technology not only adds zeal to humanity but also ensures it’s survival and in this way
provides a great common purpose to mankind as a whole. I would like to conclude with these
powerful words of Roman cousin
“What was most significant the tumour voyage was not that man set foot on the moon but they
set eyes on.
Conclusion
Humanity is continuously sustaining itself on earth. But we can not live on earth forever.
We humans are always excited and having an explorative mind in ourself to explore the beauty of this
universe. That’s why we need to explore Earth-like planets to sustain ourself on those planets and for this,
we need to understand our universe. Just for exploring this, we develop space technology. This makes our
path easy to understand this. Space technology will help us to look towards the actual images of the
universe. Studying the different life forms at other corners of our universe. With space technologies, now
we can remote sensing, weather forecasting, operational remote sensing etc. In future with advanced
technology, we will able to colonize space. Communication sector, TV Broadcast, education, disaster
warnings are fully supported by space technology. Space sciences will ensure our survival in the outer
space.
