,The Nature Astronomy Article — The development of the Sun, the Solar System and
the resulting rise of life on Earth might be an outcome of a crash between our universe, the
Milky Way, and a littler galaxy called Sagittarius, found during the 1990s to be orbiting our
galactic home.
Another examination, in light of information accumulated by ESA’s galaxy mapping powerhouse
Gaia, uncovered for the first time that the impact of Sagittarius on the MIlky Way might be
even more substantial.
The waves brought about by the collisions appear to have activated major star formation
episodes, one of which roughly coincided with time of the formation of the Sun some 4.7 billion
years back.
